Inspiring innovation from tradition

With around 30,000 items, it includes many of the primary sources in the original language, the necessary reference works for the study of such sources, the secondary literature, and many scientific journals. Books, off-prints, and journals are complemented by slides, microfilms, and “non-book” material. After 12 years at the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History, where it was open to the scientific community, the library is hosted now by the Brody Botanical Center of the Huntington Library, Art Collection and Botanical Gardens. A computerized catalogue is currently being prepared.
