Inspiring innovation from tradition

Researchers may use pencil and paper or laptop computers for note-taking when working with the Collection’s material. Pens are not allowed under any circumstances. Small hand-held tape recorders are allowed, as long as their use does not disturb other people. Scanners and cameras, including digital cameras, are not permitted.

Photocopying of unpublished manuscript materials is available on a limited basis. Published items, including newspaper and magazine articles, offprints and pamphlets, may be copied, depending on the condition of the particular item, and subject to approval.

When leaving, readers are requested to return all materials to the reference staff. If research is not complete, materials can be put on hold. You should make arrangements with a staff member at the end of the day.
